Summary

Renaissance Montessori Academy is seeking an Executive Director as a member of the Leadership Team with management duties and responsibilities.

RMA is a long-standing non-profit Montessori School working with children 2.5 through Elementary.

The Director will supervise the day-to-day operations, oversee and coordinate the vision, maintain all legal aspects with regulatory agencies, work in partnership and under the Board and Director of Communications, observe the programs and classroom environments, keep records, access and evaluate the programs. Support communications with staff and families, and market the school internally and externally in collaboration with the Director of Communications.The Director will have a role in mentoring, training, and supporting teachers and families.The Director will work on whole school initiatives, admissions, events, fundraising and oversight of all programs offered at RMA.

Duties

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
•Care and custody of all funds, securities, evidences of indebtedness and other personal property of RMA.
•Management of personnel and human resources.
•Management of regulatory records.
•Observe, support, manage and model appropriate and professional behavior at all times.
•Observe and ensure the implementation of stimulating and developmentally appropriate daily curriculum that
•honors the Montessori philosophy and the individuality of each child in all of the environments and programs.
•Ensure the maintenance of beautifully prepared, organized, clean, safe and stimulating environments for the children.
•Communicate with families on a regular basis through, social media, email updates, the Family Committee, monthly newsletters and in family meetings with teachers as needed.
•Create a marketing plan to uphold the fiscal health of the school and maintain positive relationships with current and past families.
•Build respectful, collaborative relationships with families and staff.
•Maintain school policies and procedures.
•Maintain records and provide updates for the Board.
•Support all daily operations of the school.
•Ensure Nurse, Health, and Licensing Compliance and Standards are up to date.
•Support, lead, and provide Staff Development both internally and externally.
•Support and co-develop with teachers Family Education Programs.
•Lead, attend and participate in meetings with teachers, in-service days, whole school meetings, RMA Community and Fundraising Events, including but not limited to, Annual Auction, Programs, Back-to-School Night, and Family Education.
•Must be able to work on multiple tasks throughout the day and delegate duties to assisting staff.
•Hire and orient new staff members
•Consulting the Board and finances, ED will determine what staff is needed for the program – teachers, specialists, assistants, aides, substitutes, floaters, office staff, directors, or others.
•Work with the Board on utilizing funds for each environment and program.
•Be willing and able to move the school as necessary to online, hybrid, or in-person for the safety and needs of the families and community.

Support and Training:
•Maintain continued commitment to others.
•Keep ongoing records of teacher support and be ready to share these while maintaining confidentiality.
•Be able and willing to accept where the teachers are and work with them on growth without judgement.
•Have a clear understanding for all areas of each environment and be able and willing to coach the teachers on
•any skill they need growth in.
•Have conversations and do observations of teachers to determine areas of growth together.
•Understand communication styles and be able and willing to adjust your style to the audience.
•Be a dedicated model for lifelong learning.
•Bring positivity and a forward-thinking mindset to the work environment.
•Utilizing observations and best practice standards, create, update, and present necessary trainings to teaching staff.
•In all environments, ensure materials meets the educational and developmental needs of the children.
•Find interesting and appropriate trainings for all staff members to attend outside of RMA on a wide variety of subjects.
•Observe other programs and take continuing education classes geared toward best practices for the developmental needs of our children, staff and families to ensure RMA is always on the cutting edge.
•Must obtain 15 credits of continuing education throughout the school year.

Essential Functions for Admissions:
•Uphold a commitment to a positive enrollment process for all families.
•Through tours, conversations, and other materials find best fit families for RMA.
•Create a system for best placement for children in classrooms.
•Serve as a point of contact for families.
•Oversee the development of all students through the record keeping system and observations.

Requirements

Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
•Director Qualified in the state of Colorado
•AMI and/or MACTE Montessori Certified preferred
•Minimum of 3 years of experience working in School Administration, Director or Assistant Director Preferred
•Minimum of 5 years of experience working with groups of children
•Minimum of 3 years of experience working with 2.5 to 6 year old children
•BA in Education (preferred) or other area, required
•CDE state licensure in Early Childhood Education (0-8) and/or Elementary Education (K-6) preferred
•CDE principal licensure preferred
•Certified in or can quickly receive certification in CPR, First Aid, and Universal Precautions
•Medication Administration Certification a plus
•Classroom management experience
•Willing to continue education beyond current accolades
•Adult training experience
•Clean Background check
•Ability to work in the United States

Physical Demands:

•While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, stop, kneel, crouch, sit on the floor, crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
•Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of outdoor education in all-weather RMA deems acceptable for children to be outside in.

Working Hours:
The work schedule requires Employee to be physically at the school and online in RVS each school day for the time necessary to ensure maintenance of ratio of the environments and accomplish responsibilities assigned thoroughly and for the duration of any RMA meeting(s), required weekend or evening events, and in-service days.
Other duties may be assigned by the RMA Board.
