MAJOR/KEY JOB FUNCTIONS (includes but is not limited to):

  • Assist with recruiting, selection, training, counseling, coaching, and motivating associates.
  • Participate in and observe departmental performance reviews.
  • Participate in budget creation and control.
  • Manage payroll administration. Assist the General Manager with payroll and accounts payable.
  • Authorize direct bill accounts and monitor the administration of accounts receivable.
  • Ensure all employees are aware of and capable of assisting all guests with their needs in a timely and accommodating manner. Be able to assist when necessary. Ensure proper delivery of guest special requests by the Front Office Manager and all guest service representatives. Assist the General Manager in resolving guest complaints.
  • Monitor key control program.
  • Training all staff members on policies and procedures, including all emergencies, safety and all other procedures laid out in the employee handbook.
  • Oversee departmental operations and be prepared to help departments as necessary.
  • Attend staff meetings and consider inventive ideas for improvements.
  • Inspect suites weekly on a spot-check basis for cleanliness.
  • Promote good employee communication through employee feedback, oral and written communication, and proper training.
  • Receive all phone calls when the General Manager is unavailable.
  • Assist General Manager in maintaining vendor files and ensure all department vendor files are complete and up to date.
  • Inspect rooms and/or suites on an as needed basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School GED or Equivalent
  • Minimum 1-year relevant experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, carry, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Must be able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stopping as well as stand, sit and/or walk for any extended period.
  • The hotel operates 24 hours a day, 7 days per week and any time it may be necessary to move associates from their accustomed shift as business demands.
