JOB SUMMARY: The Customer Service Representative (Branch DC) is a “customer facing” position that is responsible for engaging customers via telephone, email or virtually for the purpose of soliciting purchase orders and coordinating and executing the inside sales activities for customers.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for managing and coordinating Customer Service activities to solicit and support current and potential customers of Crown Battery; activities to include maintaining regular and scheduled communications with customers to provide product and program support, price quotations, sales orders entries, and all inside sales communications and support activities.
- Provide backup support to the Branch Operations Manager, as required, including absences, scheduled vacations, or leaves of absence, including inventory management and control, assigning order fulfillment activities, and inventory replenishment requests to Corporate Distribution.
- Provide customer specific support to the Corporate Sales Department upon request.
- Responsible for administering SLI price quotations quoted to customers at the Branch DC; administer and coordinate price management actions in response to direction from the Direct or Sales and Branch Operations Manager.
- Be familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures, and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to this position and Crown quality objectives.

ACCOUNTABILITY: This position reports directly to the Branch Operations Manager.
COMPETENCIES:
- Strong verbal skills and ability to effectively communicate with customers, co-workers, and supervised employees
- Demonstrated competencies with office PC’s, Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Teams and Word
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong knowledge of lead battery technology and best practices for safe and appropriate battery handling practices
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 years’ experience in commercial sales or customer service environment
- Possess basic understand of SLI product array, including allied and accessory items in support of SLI batteries
- Strong business to business support role experience, effective verbal and written communication skills; professional demeanor and attitude in challenging situations
- 2- year post-secondary education or commensurate certifications
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position operates in an office environment with standard office equipment and may occasionally walk the industrial plant floor. Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited too: eye safety glasses and any other PPE. The physical demands of this position are representative of those that must be met by any employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
