Job Summary
Mirbeau Inn and Spa is looking for an intelligent and positive person for the General Maintenance position. The ideal candidate would be a versatile multi-tasker, with a can-do attitude. This role plays an important part of making sure all the moving parts of the Mirbeau Inn & Spa are running as they should be and in the most efficient manner. Reporting to the Manager of Facilities, this role is the point person for maintenance on the grounds, along with the engineering and tactical side of the facility.
Pay rate: $18.00 to $20.00 based on experience
Responsibilities include:
- Report to work on time in clean uniform and name tag.
- Report to Manager of Facilities all unusual conditions and situations which may endanger the mechanical functions or the operations of the hotel.
- Ensure proper lighting and energy controls in guest rooms, meeting rooms, public areas and all other related areas.
- Perform routine maintenance on guest room furnishing, office furnishing and all other related areas.
- Ensure all emergency lighting and exit lights are working properly.
- Maintain all locks, keys and security equipment.
- Prepare and maintain spare parts inventory for guest rooms.
- Check emails, mailbox, and with all departments for work requests.
- Handle and complete immediate guest problems with urgency.
- Maintain daily logs as directed by the Manager of Facilities.
- Organize outdoor furniture and ensure proper condition.
- Repair small equipment (vacuum cleaners, minor repairs on HVAC, etc) and help complete construction projects.
- Maintain cleanliness in boiler rooms, HVAC rooms, storage rooms, office and workshop.
- Perform duties in case of emergency as instructed by the Manager of Facilities.
- Snow removal, salting and sanding on facility-maintained roads, fire exits and doors
- Maintain KOI fishponds and surrounding grounds
- Make suggestions to improve the department and perform any additional assignments as instructed by the Manager of Facilities.
- Maintain and monitor the computer systems and networks of the property.
- Manage all hotel, restaurant and spa systems including workstations, POS stations, phones, music and all other system-related information and technology-related equipment.
Qualifications, Skills & Educational Requirements
This position requires a person of good health, with the ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods. At least one year of experience in a similar position is required. A general technical knowledge of construction procedures, operating equipment installation, plumbing, electrical, and a willingness to learn HVAC systems. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass a background check.
