The opportunity:

The Fractional Controller expertly navigates the financial landscapes of client companies, leveraging their specialized expertise in agricultural accounting and finance. At the core of their responsibilities lies the meticulous oversight of financial preparation and analysis, coupled with forward-looking projections of growth potential. Operating in tandem with our team of CFOs across diverse project frameworks, they play a pivotal role in empowering clients on their journey to sustained success, fostering confidence and clarity every step of the way.


Your key responsibilities:

  • Works with CFO Services team and clients to develop short-, mid-, and long-term financial forecasts.
  • Assists in month-end closing processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Implements ways to leverage existing accounting software or assists in conversions of new systems.
  • Directs the preparation and analysis of all financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets, to provide insights into the business.
  • Develops and maintains financial models, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Assists with managing business risks and insurance requirements; suggests improvements to current planning methods; and overseas investment funds raised for expansion purposes as required by the client’s executive leadership/management strategy.
  • Provides direction and leadership to the accounting team.
  • Reviews the planning process, suggesting improvements where possible, while overseeing investment funds and working closely with investment bankers if additional capital is required for expansion purposes.
  • Reconciles bank statements on behalf of clients while assisting them in hiring efforts and developing manuals related to their respective Accounting & Financial departments.
  • Serves as a key liaison between finance, operations, and management, providing financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Communicates financial performance and KPIs to client stakeholders and external partners as needed.                    


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting finance or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Controller or relevant accounting management experience.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles.
  • Experience with commonly used agricultural ERP systems and software.
  • Proven leadership.
  • Experience in the agriculture industry is strongly preferred.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and meticulous analytical capability
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects successfully while maintaining an even-keel approach and commitment to deadlines.
