As a Medical Payment Specialist your day will include:
  • Posting electronically (ERA’s) and manual – payments for insurance and patient
  • EOB evalutation and interpretation.
  • Timely and accurate payment entry.
  • Resolving aging AR issues.
  • Identify and resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Read and understand financial reporting.
  • Claims follow-up.
  • Troubleshooting EDI transactions.
  • Other assigned duties.


Required and Desired Skills for this position:
  • 2+ years of MEDICAL billing, payment posting, accounts receivable experience preferred.
  • FQHC/Community Health Center experience preferred.
  • CPS, AthenaOne, or EPIC experience preferred
  • Experience in working aging AR
  • Experience working with insurance companies
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills, and be computer literate.
  • Ability to work with a high volume of work while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize workload
  • 10 Key – accuracy and proficiency
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to a fast-changing environment
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, MCO’s, and commercial insurance.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills both verbal and written
  • ICD-10/CPT knowledge required
