Shipping Lead-1st shift

The candidate must be able to work M- F from 7:00am -3:30pm
This person is responsible to coordinate all package processing, and leading the team to ensure all product is stored properly, pulled for shipment, and delivered to the customer per the shipping schedule in a timely manner.
Make sure all work order forms and bill of lading are accurate according to company standards. Maintain files for all customer orders shipped.
Leads any employees assigned to this area ? Sorts and processes pallets of custom cases for shipment ? Ensures any product left over from the previous day is cross-checked with scheduling and shipping departments to avoid reproducing product ? Processes UPS/FedEx/other shipments daily ? Performs transactions within internal computer systems ? Put away product coming from Production and complete systems transactions daily ? Ensures daily housekeeping and safety procedures are followed .
1. Check drivers in and out.
2. Process work order forms for loaded trucks.
3. Answer incoming calls.
4. Keep shipping files organized.
5. Keep Shipping Supervisor aware of any problems that may surface with any orders.
6. Maintain good housekeeping and safety in the work area assigned.
7. Process packing lists.
8. Bill all completed work order forms.
9. Generate Bill of Ladings.
10. Print shipping labels as needed.
11. Train new associates in regards of the shipping office duties and systems.
12. Assist/cover the Shipping Supervisor during his/her absence.
13. Perform other duties as assigned by WH Supervisor/WH Manager.
Requirements:DECISIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Must have the ability to choose or decide about things in a clear and definite way without too much hesitation or delay.
2. Must be able to adapt to last minute changes in scheduling.
3. May teach another co-worker how to fully process completed work order forms.
4. Accountable for accuracy on all completed work order forms and bill of lading.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
2. Must be able to sit, stand or walk continuously throughout the shift.
3. Must be able to bend and stoop for long periods of time.
4. Must be able to use both hands and arms in repetitive motion, if needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Must be able to work in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
2. Must be able to withstand noisy, dusty work areas.
3. Must follow all plant safety and environmental policies.
4. Must be able to withstand both hot and cold atmosphere depending on weather conditions.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must have a high school diploma or the equivalent.
2. At least 3 years of shipping documentation experience.
Be familiar with all processes and procedures/legal and company requirements for shipping packages ? Certified to use forklift, pallet jacks and all other material handling tools.
