Teen Choice Facilitator

Position Overview:

The Teen Choice Facilitator is responsible for the implementation of Making Proud Choices groups within designated residential settings in Queens and Bronx. The Teen Choice Facilitator will provide individual counseling to youth on topics such as but not limited to: STD/STIs; contraception, pregnancy prevention, healthy relationships, teen dating violence, healthy decision making, safer sex practices, etc.

The Teen Choice/CAPP Facilitator will facilitate groups reflective of: A Safer Sex Approach to In addition the Group Facilitator will be prepared to address youth who choose to have sex by facilitating a curriculum related to: pregnancy prevention/risk reduction model, in the context of youth development and asset-building, focusing on the strengths of youth and their families.

Position Qualifications:

• • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years’ experience working with youth in a school and or residential setting.
  • Experience working with teens who may have emotional and or behavioral concerns.
  • Experience working with groups preferred.
  • A commitment to work from a strengths-based, bias-free perspective.
  • Ability to work with culturally diversified individuals.
  • Possess excellent organizational, verbal, written and communication skills.
  • Ability to promote a positive and enthusiastic work environment.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Word and Excel etc.
