Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Youth Empowerment Facilitator plays a crucial role in executing educational groups focused on adolescent health and well-being within various community settings. This position involves providing personalized guidance to young individuals on essential topics including, but not limited to: sexually transmitted infections (STIs), contraceptive methods, pregnancy prevention strategies, fostering healthy relationships, addressing teen dating violence, and promoting informed decision-making.

The Facilitator will lead discussions that emphasize a proactive approach to safer sex practices. Additionally, the role requires addressing the needs of youth who are sexually active by delivering a curriculum centered on pregnancy prevention and risk reduction, all while considering youth development principles and asset-building strategies that highlight the strengths of both the youth and their families.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree accompanied by at least two years of experience working with young people in educational or residential environments.
  • Proven experience engaging with adolescents who may face emotional or behavioral challenges.
  • Prior experience in group facilitation is preferred.
  • A strong commitment to a strengths-based, inclusive approach.
  • Ability to effectively engage with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Exceptional organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Capacity to foster a positive and motivating work atmosphere.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Word and Excel.
