Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. is recruiting for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Oak Ridge, TN.

The Accounts Payable Clerk will process AP vouchers per week; process approximately 70 utility and courier invoices per month; process weekly check run; manage vendor accounts, including address and payment preferences, Administrator of FedEx shipping application; annual 1099 reporting; audit support; various support for AP questions, reporting, etc.

Position may interface with any contract employee at any given time since accounting supports the entire contract; Majority of interface will be within the Business Services Group (Project Controls, Employee Support/Coordination, Procurement, Admin Support, Document Management). Position will also interface with external vendors as well as employees at the corporate office. External communication directly with DOE is unlikely. No travel will be required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required with a minimum of 2-5 years accounting related experience and/or an associate degree in accounting or business.
  • Candidate should have experience with Accounts Payable processing, including AP matching and validations; matching AP vouchers to cost accruals, manage vendor accounts, and general ledger support.
  • Individual must be detail-oriented, organized, and be able to follow complex instructions, have excellent data entry skills, and be able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel; ability to navigate spreadsheets and know how to create and use formulas to perform data comparisons and analyses.


Desired Requirements

  • Familiarity with government accounting, especially federal government, the Federal Acquisition Regulations, and the Federal Travel Regulations.
  • Ability to apply knowledge and work in a complex job cost environment.
  • Deltek Costpoint experience.
