Job Summary: The accountant coordinates a range of financial tasks aimed at ensuring accurate recording, reporting, and analysis of an organization's financial transactions. The scope of the accountant position also includes the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations of Greater Vision. This is a temporary position with the possibility to become permanent after 6 months.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions: The person in this position must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records by recording transactions, posting journal entries, and reconciling accounts. Assist in entering data from financial records into software or databases.

General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the general ledger by posting journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.

Financial Reporting: Prepare various financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, on a regular basis or as needed by management.

Budgeting and Forecasting Support: Assist in the budgeting process by compiling financial data, preparing budget schedules, and providing analysis to support budget development and monitoring.

Tax Compliance Support: Assist in tax compliance activities by gathering necessary documentation, preparing tax filings, and supporting tax audits as required.

Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on analysis findings.

Internal Controls: Assist in maintaining and evaluating internal control procedures to ensure the integrity of financial information and compliance with policies and regulations.

Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects or initiatives as assigned by management, which may include process improvements, system implementations, or financial analysis projects.

Qualifications/Educational Recruitments:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • Adequate understanding of basic and complex accounting principles
  • Utilize accounting software and other financial tools proficiently to perform tasks efficiently, generate reports, and support financial analysis.
  • Proficient with QuickBooks, or experience with other similar accounting software
  • Proficient with the Microsoft office suite, especially excel and word
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members, management, vendors, and other stakeholders regarding financial matters.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues across departments to facilitate smooth financial operations.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
