Position Title: Infection Preventionist

Location: Fairbanks, AK

Employment Type: Full-time

Shift Information:

  • 8-hour day shifts
  • On-call requirement as needed
  • Holiday requirement as needed

Start Date: ASAP (onboarding process takes approximately 5-8 weeks)

Compensation:

  • Salary Range: $40.88 - $64.13 per hour, based on years of experience
  • Sign-On Bonus: Two-year completion bonus incentive

Job Responsibilities:

As an Infection Preventionist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting focused surveillance for healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) by detecting, recording, and analyzing HAIs on a systematic and current basis. Preparing reports for the Infection Control Committee of the facility or ambulatory setting.
  • Reporting communicable diseases as required by regulation.
  • Routinely rounding on all areas of clinical practice to evaluate infection prevention opportunities. Making recommendations when problems are identified.
  • Interpreting department policies and procedures in conjunction with the Director to ensure compliance and best practices.


Required Qualifications:


  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in infection prevention or a related field.
  • Education: Requires a Masters in Public Health (MPH), Clinical Laboratory Scientist certification with a Bachelor of Science, or a Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) with current RN Licensure in the state of practice.
  • Certification: Must be eligible to sit for the Certification in Infection Control (CIC) certification at the time of hire and must obtain CIC certification within one year.
  • Licensure: Must hold an Alaska state license prior to starting.
  • Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support).
