Position Title: Infection Preventionist

Location: Fairbanks, AK

Employment Type: Full-Time

Shift Information:

  • Schedule: 8-hour day shifts
  • On-call Requirement: As needed
  • Holiday Requirement: As needed

Start Date: ASAP (Onboarding process approximately 5-8 weeks)

Compensation:

  • Salary Range: $40.88 - $64.13 per hour, based on years of experience

Job Description:


As an Infection Preventionist, you will conduct focused surveillance for healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and systematically record and analyze data to prepare reports for the Infection Control Committee. Your role will involve detecting and recording HAIs, reporting communicable diseases as required by regulation, and making infection prevention recommendations when necessary. You will routinely round on all clinical practice areas to identify infection prevention opportunities and interpret department policies and procedures in collaboration with the Director.


Required Qualifications:


  • 2+ years of experience in infection prevention or related field
  • Masters degree in Public Health (MPH), Clinical Laboratory Scientist certification with a Bachelor of Science, or a Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) with current RN licensure in the state of practice
  • Must be eligible to sit for Certification in Infection Control (CIC) at the time of hire and obtain CIC certification within one year


License Required:


  • AK license required (must be licensed prior to starting)

  • BLS certification
