CAD TECHNICIAN
Responsible for the mechanical modeling and drafting of mechanical and electromechanical machines, large manufacturing plant systems and related piping working alongside or as directed by senior engineering department personnel. This job may involve assistance with pre and post-installation of the machines and plant systems in the customers facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Responsible for Solidworks 3D modeling design and 2D detailing/drafting of manufacturing drawings.
2. Develop Bills of Material for purchasing.
3. Conduct shop and/or field measurements to verify system meets design specifications.
4. Successfully complete project assignments on schedule by reviewing project specifications, customer requirements and project completion deadlines.
5. Coordinate and schedule project tasks with Production, Project Managers, and Electrical Engineers.
6. Review and verify that projects are within budget.
7. Conduct reviews at project completion to identify areas of improvement.
8. Travel may be required. Periodic travel for training, out of state, may be required.
9. Understanding and ensuring compliance with the plant health and safety policy.
10. Accepting responsibility and a level of accountability that is proportionate to the seniority of the position.
11. Discusses project with project and sales managers to review desired/required functions of machines and equipment and the user interface requirements.
12. Reviews schematics with customers representatives to answer questions.
13. Performs other tasks and duties as necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates mostly in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and drawing copiers. The employee is also exposed to a variety of conditions that are encountered in production environments (in-house and at customer sites).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This is largely a sedentary role; however, fine motor skills are required.
TRAVEL
This position may require brief overnight travel to customer sites.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Experience with hydraulics, piping, pneumatics, structural steel, and electric motor driven systems is preferred.
Typical automation systems will contain an assortment of presses, clamps, feeders, part manipulators, material cutters, temperature conditioning systems, positioning equipment, and conveyors in various combinations. Each system typically involves piping/housing and related structural supports to connect pump systems to customers point of use.
1. Minimum of an Associates Degree in an Engineering/CAD discipline or Bachelors in M.E.T. or three to five years related engineering experience and/or training.
2. Experience with modeling/drafting of electro-mechanical components and assemblies is preferred.
3. Proficiency with SolidWorks 3D Computer Assisted Design software (preferred), AutoCAD 2D software, excel and word is required.
4. The ability to work independently as well as on a project team.
