What is the role?

Are you a dedicated professional with a strong drive for supporting community development, wealth-building in underserved communities, and making a meaningful impact? Have you gained valuable experience working with or within community-focused depository institutions, national trade organizations, and/or the government and considered how the financial system can better serve those in need?

We are seeking a Director of Community Development Programs to collaborate closely with mission-driven banking associations, as well as the IntraFi marketing, sales, and executive teams, to advance community development banking programs that support underserved communities across the nation. These programs will empower association members to attract and retain substantial deposits from socially motivated institutions, individuals, and larger banks seeking to fulfill their obligations under the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). By participating in this program, association banks will benefit from increased deposits and the assurance of full FDIC deposit insurance coverage for every dollar.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing innovative programs and initiatives, in partnership with community development associations and trade organizations, to aggregate mission-aligned deposits and promote the growth of the mission-focused banking sector. This includes creating marketing programs that effectively position community development banks as catalysts for positive change within their communities.
  • Identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities, leading go-to-market efforts for new product and solution launches.
  • Providing support and actively participating in event planning for conferences, webinars, and other community development events. This includes coordinating conference calls, peer bank meetings, and speaking engagements. Public speaking is required.
  • Collaborating with the IntraFi marketing and sales teams to develop compelling marketing and sales materials, such as program landing pages, sales sheets, presentations, and other collateral.

You should possess the following experience, skills, and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of direct experience working within a community-focused financial institution or working with an organization dedicated to promoting community development
  • A genuine passion for community development and the desire to enhance the lives of individuals residing in traditionally underserved communities
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and marketing community development programs and an understanding of the current community development policy environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong networking and relationship management abilities
