About Us: At A Kid's World, we believe in the power of nature to inspire, educate, and nurture young minds. Our center is a haven where children can explore, learn, and grow in harmony with the environment. With a strong commitment to holistic education, we combine the wonder of nature with a research-backed curriculum to create a unique and enriching learning experience for children aged 6wks to 12yrs old.


Role and Responsibilities: As the Assistant Director, you will work closely with the Center Director to create a nurturing and educational environment that aligns with our nature-based philosophy. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with the Director to develop and implement curriculum plans that integrate nature-based learning, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and environmental stewardship.
  • Assisting in the recruitment, training, and supervision of teaching staff, ensuring that they uphold the highest standards of care and education.
  • Overseeing daily operations, including scheduling, communication with parents, and maintaining a safe and welcoming physical environment.
  • Providing hands-on support in the classroom, modeling best practices in early childhood education and promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Playing an active role in fostering relationships with parents and families, addressing concerns, and ensuring open communication channels.
  • Leading nature exploration activities, outdoor adventures, and field trips that align with the curriculum and engage children with the natural world.
  • Collaborating with the Center Director to strategize growth initiatives, community outreach, and program enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in early childhood education, with a demonstrated understanding of nature-based or outdoor education approaches.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of educators.
  • Strong knowledge of child development principles, curriculum design, and assessment strategies.
  • Passion for nature and the outdoors, with the ability to foster a love for nature in children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with parents, staff, and the community.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure smooth operations.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday
  • This position requires being able to work until 6:30 pm daily.  However, The center is open 6:30am - 6:30pm.  You MUST be available to work during these times
  • This position offers flexibility within the admin team to schedule effectively around life events requiring accomodaitons
