Join JC Ford Company, Inc. as a CAD Designer/Draftsman in Columbia, TN. This internship offers hands-on experience in Part validation, Inventor & Vault. You will work closely with our Design team to support the development of cutting-edge products that uphold JC Ford’s reputation as an industry leader.

Requirements:

  • Utilize Autodesk Inventor CAD software to develop innovative and market-leading product designs.
  • Apply knowledge of manufacturing principles, engineering practices, mathematics, materials, and physical sciences to design components for various manufacturing processes including machining, sheet metal bending/rolling, welding, and CNC machining.
  • Create and update detailed production engineering drawings for assemblies, components, and layouts.
  • Verify dimensions, materials, and positional relationships of components within CAD assemblies.
  • Establish and adhere to drafting standards in line with company guidelines.
  • Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for mechanical parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies.
  • Organize and manage production CAD files using Vault PDM.
  • Adhere to plant safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Technical degree or associates Degreesign, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor CAD software.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability principles.
  • Ability to create detailed technical drawings and documentation.
  • Knowledge of drafting standards and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Prior internship experience or coursework related to CAD design is advantageous.
