ROOST Apartment Hotel we provide an environment to those in need of a temporary living arrangement that evokes a sense of place, comfort, and enlightenment that is both convenient and affordable. ROOST provides personalized services and thoughtfully designed accommodations that meets the emotional and creature comfort needs of residents in transition. Everything ROOST does is based upon human interaction and how design can alleviate as much of this stress as possible. Executing this is the key to building an emotional connection with our residents and winning their lifelong loyalty and vocal support as brand ambassadors.


The server is the telecommunication line in the restaurant; their communication style needs to be concise, clear, and courteous. Servers need to be knowledgeable about all aspects of the restaurant and city: food, beverage, service standards, local attractions, entertainment, etc. If they don’t know an appropriate response, they will seek it. Servers at ROOST Baltimore will be guidebooks not only for the restaurant but for the city. They will be snappy with their knowledge, quick on their feet, and calm of mind and body. They will constantly strive to expand their knowledge and willingly share with other staff members to ensure the strongest team possible.

Server Job Responsibilities:

  • Greet tables with enthusiasm and a genuine smile welcoming their presence
  • Adhere to established service standards and protocols
  • Ring in orders timely and correctly
  • Offer suggestions for beverage and food, don’t “upsell” but be genuinely invested in their experience
  • Check in after courses are dropped within an appropriate timeframe to ensure their satisfaction
  • If a guest has a qualm, bring it to the attention of a manager immediately and evaluate how to proceed from there
  • Assist bartenders in proper rotation and polishing of glassware, silverware, and other service items
  • If you take the last of anything, inform a manager if it needs to be ordered, or replenish it if it is within the restaurant
  • Follow proper “manners” protocol when interacting with any guest
  • Strong, upbeat and positive personality
  • Commitment to high standards with impeccable attention to detail
