We are looking for a Strategic Inventory Specialist to join our team

The Strategic Inventory Specialist role involves managing and optimizing inventory levels, control costs, preparing reports, and analyzing data form the maintenance management system.

Essential Duties:
Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to gather insights that may impact needs.
Develop and implement inventory strategies to optimize stock levels.
Set appropriate inventory targets and safety stock levels based on demand variability and lead times.
Utilize statistical models and data analysis tools to identify patterns, trends, and potential areas for improvement.
Regularly review and analyze key performance indicators related to inventory management.
Implement strategies to minimize excess and obsolete inventory.
Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials and products.
Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers to optimize inventory costs.
Generate and manage purchase orders based on inventory requirements and lead times.
Coordinate with vendors to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues related to orders.
Utilize inventory management software and other relevant technologies to track and manage inventory levels.
Implement and maintain effective systems for inventory control and visibility.
Identify potential risks to the supply chain and implement strategies to mitigate those risks.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Regularly review and update inventory policies and procedures.
Work closely with other departments, including finance, operations, and maintenance, to align inventory strategies with overall business goals.
Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure a smooth flow of information.
Generate regular reports on key inventory metrics and present findings to management.
Provide insights and recommendations based on analysis of inventory data.

Education and/or Experience

  • HS diploma or equivalent required
  • AS or BS in supply chain, inventory, manufacturing, or related field preferred
  • 1-2 years manufacturing or experience preferred
  • Experience in inventory control
  • Experience working with Limble preferred
  • Basic understanding of accounting
  • Purchasing/receiving experience
  • Supervisory experience a plus
  • Understanding of programming languages a plus
Knowledge/Skills

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and follow through
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Enthusiastic, with a drive for results
  • Ability to work independently, act as a team player, and wear multiple hats as needed.
  • Ability to multi task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn new programs/software
  • Capable of working in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Valid drivers license
