Job Summary

As a Senior Proposal Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in securing new business opportunities through the development of high-quality, persuasive proposals. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather information, strategize proposal content and create compelling narratives that showcase our firm’s expertise and capabilities. This role requires a blend of project management, technical and creative writing, and industry knowledge to effectively craft winning proposals.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Facilitate monthly opportunity management calls
  • Assist professional staff in maintaining the CRM database,
  • Assist Client Development Lead and Department Leaders in identifying and capturing new business opportunities.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with Client Development Lead and Department Leader, providing and reviewing sales and forecasting data.
  • Conduct/facilitate market research and gather information relevant to pursuit and active proposals.
  • Responsible for overseeing the entire proposal process.
  • Facilitates the Go/No Go process.
  • Develops proposal strategies and plans, through the need’s development process and collaboration with the project manager/technical owners.
  • Craft compelling narratives that demonstrate JEO’s unique value proposition and expertise.
  • Coordinate the efforts of the proposal team, ensuring compliance with proposal requirements and branding.  
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure error -free submissions.
  • Lead/facilitate the interview process and conduct quality control checks to ensure error-free submissions.
  • Track and report on proposal metrics, including win/loss ratios, submission timelines, and lessons learned, to inform continuous improvement efforts.
  • Strategize and guide team in award submittals and collaborate with Marketing and other key stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Business or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in proposal development, preferably within the AEC industry.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills. 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
