Job Summary

CPR instructors need good speaking skills, with the ability to speak clearly and help students understand the impact of their training. The hours will be variable and booked through three organizations on campus (Emergency Services Department, Continuing Education, and Custom Fit), for a maximum of 28 hours per week. The instructor may need to travel the Cache Valley region because some classes will be off campus.

Essential Duties

This position requires extensive hands-on interaction with faculty, staff, and students. The CPR Instructor must also be able to move needed equipment to classroom areas or private company locations. As a result, this position requires physical presence to complete the essential duties found below.

General:

  • Delivery of course material to students.
  • Be familiar with the course curriculum and standards.
  • Ensure that course objectives and outcomes are met.
  • Model professionalism within the classroom and the community.
  • Assist with scheduling of courses, student pass-offs, and final paperwork.
  • Observe the students' progress within the class and make suggestions to the Emergency Services Department Head or Custom Fit Director on improvements that need to be implemented.
  • Ensure the program follows guidelines and conditions necessary to meet the appropriate standards.
  • Strictly follow policies and procedures.
  • Complete tasks accurately and on time.
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Be able to deal with change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Provide sound leadership, guidance, and motivation.
  • Take responsibility for own actions.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Welcome feedback.
  • Put success of the team above own interests.
  • Show empathy and interest in the students.
