Title:             Young Adult Worship Leader


Status:          Part-time, Hourly, Non-exempt, Support Staff


Purpose:      To assist in the Worship Ministries Department of Calvary Church as we cultivate an atmosphere of worship that enables people to Pursue Life in Christ.


Working Relationship:  Accountable to and supervised by the Pastor of Worship Ministries, with direct supervision for their responsibilities to the Young Adult Worship Assistant.


Qualifications:

  • Requires a minimum of a High School diploma with preferences for individuals currently enrolled in or possessing an undergraduate degree (or comparable life experience) in Worship Arts.
  • Work/ministry experience with leading worship, performing music, and leading people
  • Some experience in one or more of the following: Planning Center Online, Ableton, Mainstage, ProTools, ProPresenter, Sibelius, or Finale software
  • Competency in worship leadership, band leadership, accomplished musical skill in at least one instrument, organization, creativity, flexibility, attention to detail, team player
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Planning Center Online, and willing to learn other tools
  • An ability to be a team-player within the staff and teams of volunteers
  • Protect the reputation and integrity of others through strict confidentiality. Demonstrate a high level of trust.

  • Must be a professing Christian who affirms the Calvary Church doctrinal basis, vision and values and philosophy of ministry
  • Must be a regular attender of Calvary Church



One Sentence Job Description

      Enhance and facilitate the corporate worship of God at Calvary Church in the Young Adult & Main Service gatherings.


Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Young Adult
    • Participate and lead worship in our Tuesday evening Young Adult gathering
    • Print, organize, and file charts for Young Adult Worship Teams
    • Lead rehearsals and direct the bands as needed
    • Train other musicians in the main instrument(s) of proficiency
    • Create and maintain services in PCO as needed
    • Scheduling of volunteers as needed
    • Continued growth in musicianship


Additional Secondary Responsibilities

  • Main Service
    • Participate and/or lead worship in Main Services every 4-6 weeks
    • Attend Worship Ministry Staff meetings and Music Staff meetings
    • Arrange and create songs


Other Ministry Responsibilities

  • Special events as necessary
  • Pray for the ministry of the church


Work Schedule and Time Allotment

Work schedule: Part-time, flexible Sunday-Wednesday related to programs and projects, 1-2 evenings a week, not to exceed 17 hours every week. To be managed and accounted for in cooperation with supervisor.

Physical and Mental Requirements

    •  Light physical work requirements (lifting 20-50 lbs), sitting, prolonged standing, potential reaching, climbing, prolonged positioning under hot bright lights, occasionally outside in differing weather conditions and prolonged looking at monitors and computer screens and operating a mouse and keyboard.

    •  Creative thinking, conceptual, collaborative, and listening skills. Must be able to present ideas and allow for adoption, adaptation or elimination of those ideas.
