We are currently seeking a qualified Trailer Mechanic to contribute to the maintenance and repairs of dry-van units.
Responsibilities:
Routine Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on trailers and dry-vans, including but not limited to inspections, brake adjustments, tire replacements, electrical system checks, etc..
Diagnosis and Repair: Identify and resolve mechanical issues with trailers and dry-vans, including but not limited to suspension systems, axles, brakes, and lighting. Execute timely and effective repairs to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities. Utilize computerized systems for work order management, parts inventory, and trailer history.
Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of trailers and dry-vans to identify potential problems and recommend necessary repairs. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Collaboration: Work closely with fellow mechanics and team members to facilitate a smooth workflow. Communicate effectively with supervisors and drivers regarding maintenance updates and repair timelines.
Emergency Repairs: Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergencies, providing on-site repairs when necessary. Prioritize safety and efficiency in all emergency repair situations.
Qualifications:
Experience: Proven experience as a Trailer Mechanic, with a minimum of 2 years of experience working with dry-vans.
Technical Skills: Proficient in diagnosing and repairing trailer components, including suspension systems, axles, brakes, and electrical systems. Familiarity with diagnostic tools and computerized systems.
Safety Focus: Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and working in compliance with industry regulations.
Team Player: Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a team environment. Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to efficiently diagnose and address mechanical issues.
Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency situations outside of regular business hours.
