Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled diesel mechanic to join our team at a heavy equipment company located in Dallas, TX as a diesel mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of diesel engines and heavy equipment, ensuring they are in good working order and safe for operation.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engine and heavy equipment issues.
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and tune-ups.
- Repair or replace defective parts, such as transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
- Use diagnostic tools, such as computerized diagnostic equipment, to identify issues.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed.
- Adhere to safety protocols and standards at all times.
- Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to ensure equipment is repaired and maintained in a timely manner.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical school degree or certification in diesel mechanics strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
- Must have own tools.
