POSITION OVERVIEW

At Allmark Door, we are looking for an enthusiastic Project Estimator to provide superb service to our clientele and in office staff. Our Project Estimator will play a key function in ensuring all project estimations are being delivered in a timely manner. This includes collecting and evaluating our current and potential projects to estimate the costs, resources, and labor needed to produce services or products. This position will be responsible for estimating material, labor, pricing and creating quotations. Pre-bid qualifications forms, pre-bid contracts, RFI’s, contract scope issues, bookings, shop drawings, architectural submittals, change orders, job releases and project management will be an important component to the job position.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Analyze project requirements and identify materials, labor, and equipment needed for doors, frames, and hardware installations.

  • Obtain quotes and pricing from suppliers and vendors for metal doors, frames, and hardware components.

  • Prepare material estimates and cost estimates for the product or service.

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors

  • Managing bids from vendors and contractors

  • Presenting prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders


RELEVANT JOB COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledge of Commercial Door Systems and Commercial Construction

  • Understanding of Division 8 (door and hardware) and Division 13 Specialty Doors

  • Knowledge of Automatic and Manual Commercial Doors, Hollow Metal Doors, Fire Rated Doors, Door Hardware, Commercial Storefront Doors

  • Working knowledge of ANSI, IBC and NFPA Door standards

  • Industry knowledge of different type of manufacturers and vendors (i.e ASSA Abloy, Allegion, Hager, Pemko, Steelcraft, CECO, etc.)

  • Proficiency in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis

  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and part of a team.

  • Competent in computer software such as Microsoft excel, word, power point and other project programs.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or High School Diploma/GED and equivalent work experience

  • 2-5 years of hands-on estimating experience
