  • Master's degree in MHA, MSN, MBA, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in emergency services required.
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Will consider 3-5 years of ER Manager experience in an acute care setting.
  • Current registered professional nurse license in the state required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Key Responsibilities:Service:
  • Identify and resolve real/potential problems affecting the service.
  • Actively participate in service, departmental, and hospital-wide committees.
  • Advance the patient experience agenda in the Emergency Department.
People:
  • Coach and provide feedback to subordinates, facilitating individual development plans.
  • Adhere to Human Resource policies and effectively communicate departmental information.
  • Foster evidence-based employee engagement practices and build strong relationships to
    achieve organizational goals.
  • Participate in employee and patient rounding, mentoring potential future leaders.
Quality:
  • Enforce standards of emergency department care and develop processes to ensure compliance.
  • Develop and evaluate an ongoing emergency services program to assure quality patient care.
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policies.
  • Oversee a PI program that monitors and evaluates critical aspects of care.
  • Ensure operational excellence in the department.
Finance:
  • Seek new program strategies and enhancements to expand patient services.
  • Develop and defend capital equipment requests.
  • Manage the fiscal aspects of the department, ensuring proper utilization of financial resources.
Growth:
  • Advance the growth agenda for emergency services.
Community:
  • Develop and build strategic external networks.
  • Demonstrate a poised and confident demeanor that reassures others and commands respect
  • within the organization and community.

  • 45-50 patients daily
  • High acuity
  • FTEs: 46
  • Reports to CNO

Ideal Candidate:
  • Must be able to handle pressure and a fast-paced unit.
  • Must be able to hold staff accountable.
  • Must be clinically competent to assist staff.
  • Comfortable in a smaller facility and wearing multiple hats.
  • Experience with behavioral health population and increased hold times.
