George Fox University is seeking a highly organized and motivated Fieldwork Assistant to join their Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) program.


About the Job:

The Fieldwork Assistant, OTD will be primarily responsible for supporting the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC) in ensuring the successful execution of fieldwork requirements for the program.


Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing administrative and regulatory support to the AFWC in the overall management of the experiential curriculum; including compiling of accreditation materials for Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) reports and visits.
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of fieldwork contracts and other relevant documentation to support delivery of the fieldwork program.
  • Supporting the development, implementation, and management of department policies and procedures associated with fieldwork standards according to ACOTE.
  • Assisting the AFWC with event coordination for fieldwork educator activities and Occupational Therapy Association of Oregon (OTAO) meetings and workgroups.
  • Working with the AFWC in developing training materials needed to ensure fieldwork educators are equipped and prepared for taking students.
  • Organizing and compiling annual/semi-annual reports consistent with Program Evaluation.
  • Supporting the onsite supervision of Level 1 fieldwork placements in non-traditional settings.
  • Collaborating with the AFWC on regular communication with students to keep student files and information up to date.
  • Adding and maintaining site folders in the electronic program management system.
  • Completing pre and post student placement tasks.
  • Assisting the AFWC with fieldwork course materials.
  • Supporting faculty with course labs/lectures (up to 25% of hours for course assistance), as needed.
  • Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
  • By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
  • Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people.
  • Other duties as assigned.
