The Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) within the Office of Intramural Research (OIR) has partnered with the Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer (FLC) in supporting the FLC's Federal Lab Education Accelerator (FLEX) program, which connects entrepreneurial students in MBA and other business programs with federal laboratories' technology portfolios. The Project Manager will plan, manage, and execute tasks related to the FLEX program including the following objectives.

Objectives:

  • Maintaining relationships with academic institutions, federal labs, and others.
  • Providing administrative and operations oversight of the FLEX program.
  • Supporting timely communication between schools and federal labs by ensuring the POCs within labs and schools are aware of deadlines, meetings, and deliverables.
  • Maintaining and updating FLEX technology portfolio and supporting integration with FLC business.
  • Coordinating selection of technologies and matchmaking between teams/students and technologies/labs.
  • Expanding and building the FLEX program by increasing the number of participating universities and federal labs; and
  • Collecting and recording metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting the outcomes and successes of the program.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Project management experience.
  • Meticulous organizational skills.
  • Understanding of technology transfer, licensing and entrepreneurship.
  • Ability to collaborate and work with stakeholders of all levels with utmost professionalism.
  • Very strong interpersonal skills required with excellent oral, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Sound judgment, positive attitude, and creative outlook required.
  • Ability to remain positive and calm under deadline pressure.
  • Proficiency with MS Office required.
  • Knowledge of the technology transfer process required.
  • Federal government experience preferred.
