Operations - Materials/Planning I (Direct)-Contingent Worker

Coordinate and organize the flow of materials, from suppliers to manufacturing cell in Erie Plant. Plan material and work material/inventory projects. Manage WIP jobs for Erie shops for FLX Locomotive related assemblies. Track all material internal through the shops while also supporting production areas.
Essential Responsibilities
Responsible for material planning and inventory metrics across production area that is supported
Monitor the results of changes to the inventory plan/forecast and recommend modifications
Work with all levels of personnel (hourly, supervisory, and general foreperson) in resolving issues, tracking material availability, and advising on material usage
Manage kit material, expedite in material shortages from both suppliers internal and external.
Keep up on inventory health metrics.
Optimize inventory and process improvements, work inventory controllership and presentation projects.
Manage a team of stock keepers to sustain material controllership and flow efficiency.
Collaborate with others from the business unit.
Present to internal teams on metrics, project status and research.
Work with materials and fulfillment teams to manage safety stocks, manage order modifiers, and planning parameters for optimal material availability.
Create and execute continuous improvement projects to deliver safety, efficiency, and cost savings for warehousing, production lines, and/or the shop as a whole.
Meet inventory metrics, including but not limited to material availability, inventory, field order OTD, non-nettable inventory, material flow, premium transportation, warehousing spend, warehousing discrepancy, customer core management & out of scope material usage.
Provide clear communication and material guidance to management and other Wabtec employees daily.
Work as part of a cross-functional team, driving a "one team" focus, and dedicated to customer success within the shop.
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, OSHA work practices, and industry/site-specific work rules.
Work with various MRP, quality, and MES software systems to manage material and other systemic requirements. Develop and follow standard work.
Work with data analytics teams to mine & interpret material usage data and implement forecasts
Take ownership of and lead projects for plantwide materials process improvement in addition to your planning responsibilities.
