Job DescriptionJob DescriptionRochester Midland Corporation is looking for a Recruiter/Generalist for RMC, to oversee and manage the full candidate lifecycle from sourcing to Day 1 onboarding. This position is accountable for building trust and rapport with all business partners by understanding viewpoints through various methods such as asking clarifying questions, effectively advising on all facets of the recruiting and onboarding processes.  Additional responsibilities include maintaining applicant tracking technology, employee relations and assisting with other key duties inside of the HR department.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Sources active and passive candidates using recruiting tools such as networking, social media, applicant tracking systems and university relationships and other innovative approaches.
  • Keeps abreast of the latest developments in the recruiting and selection field through reading, attendance at conferences and seminars, etc.
  • Serves as the expert to pre-screen and interview potential candidates for employment using technical and behavioral-based interviewing methods.
  • Manages the interviewing and selection process up to and through on-boarding, including reference checking, extending the offer of employment, coordinating drug/background check/driving record and any other pre-employment issues – such as equipment needs ordered, etc.
  • Manages the candidate life cycle through employment utilizing the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and assists hiring managers in Manager-Self-Service in the ATS.
  • Ensures that onboarding is processed through the HRIS, including all needed documents and signatures are completed before date of hire.  Initiates the benefits enrollment.
  • Completes new employee onboarding and employee terminations. 
  • Utilizes the ATS, designs and maintains reports connected to the selection process and meets all Federal and State compliance requirements, including affirmative action plan compliance, Veteran’s reporting and EEO1.
  • Provides monthly metrics to the business to outline key metrics such as days to fill, days outstanding, open/closed positions, etc.
  • Follows up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback regarding the recruiting process and continuously seeks to improve the process to meet staffing goals.
  • Creates, updates and maintains accurate job descriptions.
  • Documents and communicates internal job changes, promotions, demotions, etc.
  • Handles various employee relations issues, including participating in and documenting employee investigations, implementing corrective/disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Performs similar, comparable, or related duties as may be required or assigned.

EDUCATION/ SPECIAL LICENSES OR CERTIFICATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or management, or 2+ years equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE:
  • 2+ years of Full-Cycle Recruiting experience.
  • 1-2 years of Human Resource Generalist experience a plus.
  • Strong track record of utilizing creative strategies in technical, sales and manufacturing recruiting.
  • Applicant Tracking System and/or HRIS experience.

SKILLS:
  • Demonstrated ability to manipulate ATS and HRIS tools.
  • Strong knowledge of social media and demonstrated usage of tools such as LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize passive sourcing techniques.
  • Clear understanding of the end-to-end recruitment life cycle process.             
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization, external candidates, vendors, and team members.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and be resourceful.
  • Trustworthiness and ability to maintain confidentiality.
