At Vireo Resources, we are seeking a talented Quality Assurance and Control Technician who shares our vision and wants to help us fulfill our mission

POSITION SUMMARY:

The QA/QC Technician will help Vireo Resources assure consistent quality and compliance of our products and processes by applying current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and performing and documenting tasks, gathering information, and maintaining records related to the support of the same.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Adhere to and enforce the requirements of the quality management system.
  • Identify problems and initiate corrections/corrective actions.
  • Verify compliance and quality of manufacturing processes by:
    • Performing pre-operational checks including sanitation effectiveness and equipment verifications.
    • Performing in-process quality checks.
    • Performing raw material inspections and collecting samples for verification testing.
    • Performing finished product inspections and collecting samples for verification testing.
    • Maintaining retention and reserve sample inventory and scheduling and arranging for shelf-life verification testing as required by material/product type.
    • Performing any in-house testing as required.
    • Scheduling and performing environmental and drain swabbing.
    • Scheduling equipment service and calibration.
  • Initiate investigations and gather initial information to assist with customer complaints, process or product deviations, and equipment issues.
  • Submit samples to third party labs and maintain results in applicable spreadsheets, SharePoint folders, and software systems. Analyze, assess, and report information to provide informed notifications to quality

REQUIREMENTS:

  • College degree in food science or related field
  • 2 + years of experience
  • Working Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation bodies (FDA, SQF, NSF, OSHA)
  • Working knowledge of QA/QC documentation, policies, and procedures (GMP, SOPs, CAPAs, SSOPs)
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Team player who is both teachable and able to teach others.
  • Efficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, TEAMS. NetSuite experience a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to sit/stand for 8-10 hours
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
