Position: Body Shop Assistant

Location: Oklahoma City, OK

Employment Type: Full-Time


Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Body Shop Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in the repair and restoration of vehicles, supporting our technicians in various tasks to ensure high-quality work and customer satisfaction. This role is essential in maintaining the efficiency and productivity of our body shop operations.


Key Responsibilities:


Assisting Technicians:

•Assist body shop technicians with tasks such as sanding, masking, and prepping vehicles for painting.

•Help in the disassembly and reassembly of vehicle parts.

•Mix and prepare paint according to specifications.

•Provide tools and materials to technicians as needed.

•Perform minor repairs under the supervision of experienced technicians.

Vehicle Handling:

•Move vehicles to and from the repair area.

•Ensure vehicles are properly secured and protected during the repair process.

•Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including sweeping and removing debris.

Quality Control:

•Inspect vehicles for noticeable defects and ensure they meet quality standards.

•Report any issues or concerns to the supervisor.

•Assist in final detailing and cleaning of repaired vehicles before delivery to customers.

Inventory Management:

•Keep track of supplies and materials used in the body shop.

•Assist in ordering and restocking supplies as needed.

•Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.

Skills and Abilities:

•Ability to work efficiently and manage time effectively.

•Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

•Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

•Basic mechanical skills and familiarity with automotive tools and equipment.

Work Environment:

•This position involves working indoors in a body shop setting.

•The role may require standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.

•Exposure to various chemicals, paints, and solvents is common.

Requirements:

Requirements:

•High school diploma or equivalent.

•Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

•Previous experience in an automotive body shop or related field is preferred but not required.

•Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.

•Good physical stamina, including the ability to lift heavy parts and stand for extended periods.

•Basic knowledge of automotive repair and painting processes is a plus.

•Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
