ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Serves as a point of contact for Workers’ Compensation department.

  • Schedule appointments and collect necessary information for data entry, treatment, and billing purposes.
  • Initiation and follow up for Workers’ Compensation procedures and treatment authorizations.
  • Obtain authorized signatures on appropriate fee agreements for initial appointments and/or procedure(s). Negotiate fees when necessary.
  • Obtain and review prior medical records as appropriate for appointments.
  • Coordinate patients care between physicians, nurse case managers, adjusters, and other third party management companies.
  • Work directly with adjusters and nurse case managers to expand the awareness and reputation of the practice.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA compliance

  • Work independently while understanding the need to communicate and coordinate Work Comp efforts with other employees and organizations.
  • Basic typing and keyboarding skills.
  • Computer Proficiency in Windows environment.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate proper telephone etiquette and computer skills.
  • Must be able to act calmly and effectively in busy or stressful situations.
  • Knowledge of insurance plans and procedures.
  • Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Prior Work Comp and/or previous medical office experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Certification/Licensure: Not required

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires occasional lifting up to 25 pounds unassisted. Requires frequent bending, reaching and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting.
