RESPONSIBILITIES
:


Essential Functions –

  • Assist with supervising all athletic programs for Hutchinson Community
  • Assist with scheduling athletic events for HutchCC athletic programs.
  • Assist with NJCAA compliance and eligibility.
  • Assist with supervising coaches, assistant coaches, and support staff personnel
    involved with athletics.
  • Assist with orientation and mentoring new
  • Assist with fundraising for the athletic
  • Assist with the Promotion of Blue Dragon Athletics to the student population and
  • Work within institutional system and
  • Work within the guidelines of the NJCAA and Jayhawk
  • Maintain compliance with Higher Learning Commission
  • Serve actively on campus committees.
  • Arrive on time for work, attend work regularly, and successfully complete the
    responsibilities of the position.
  • Comply with HutchCC policies, procedures and practices.

 

Secondary –

 

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Athletic Director.

 

QUALIFICATIONS (Essential):

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience serving as an Athletic Director or Assistant Athletic Director preferred.
  • The ability to establish and maintain professional work relationships with many people.
  • Physical requirements include excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills; visual acuity to view a computer terminal; this position is rated at the medium level with both an indoor/outdoor work environment; understand words and respond effectively and appropriately; use appropriate judgment and to apply tact and courtesy in difficult situations.
  • Mental requirements include the ability to learn and comprehend basic instructions about the position.
  • Physical and mental qualifications must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • The qualifications listed are guidelines for selection purposes; alternative qualifications may be substituted if sufficient to perform the duties.

SALARY and STATUS:

 

The salary is commensurate with qualifications as determined by HutchCC administration.  This full-time administrative staff position is benefit eligible, at-will, and exempt.

 

The hired candidate will be required to submit official, non-issued to student, transcripts.

 

HutchCC CSA Job Description Addendum:

 

Satisfy the duties of a Campus Security Authority (CSA) relating to Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (“Clery Act”) by:

  • Promptly reporting Clery Act crimes and/or allegations of Clery Act crimes to the designated HutchCC official(s) in accordance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures;
  • Completing any HutchCC provided CSA training regarding campus safety and crime reporting issues;
  • Assisting in the issuance of timely warnings and emergency notifications in accordance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures;
  • Serving as a resource to students, employees, and others regarding crime prevention, reporting and victim assistance; and
  • Collaborating with the Coordinator of Campus Safety, the Coordinator of Equity & Compliance, and the Director of Human Resources, regarding campus safety and compliance issues.
  • A professional counselor, as designated by HutchCC and whose official responsibilities
    include providing mental health counseling to members of the HutchCC community,
    may be exempt from reporting Clery Act crimes and/or allegations of Clery Act crimes
    when functioning within the scope of the counselor’s license or certification.
