About the Role:

As a Head Baker at Kneaders Bakery & Cafe, you will be a key member of a dynamic team dedicated to creating a unique menu selection of artisan, sweet, and seasonal breads. All our breads are baked with honest, whole ingredients, ensuring the highest quality and taste. You will have the opportunity to showcase your baking skills and contribute to our tradition of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expert Baking Skills: Demonstrate exceptional abilities in the kitchen by following recipes meticulously and paying attention to every detail to create one-of-a-kind breads. You will be lifting large amounts of dough, flour, and other supplies weighing over 50 lbs. daily. The ability to stand, lift, and mix is essential for this role.
  • Adaptability & Flexibility: Successfully navigate changes and be flexible while maintaining a close eye on the baking process. Your ability to adapt will be crucial, especially during busy periods and holiday seasons when schedules may include overnight shifts.
  • Schedule Availability: Work mid-afternoon to night shifts, typically starting around 12 pm and ending at 6 pm, with a shift on Sunday (when the store is closed). During holiday seasons, the Bread Baking team schedule may flex into longer or overnight shifts.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Ideally, you have 1+ years of large-scale baking or pastry experience. While this is preferred, it is not strictly required.
  • Compliance: Demonstrated attentiveness to local, state, and federal regulations for food handling and sanitation standards is essential.
  • Education: Formal baking or pastry education is a bonus, but not a requirement. We value hands-on experience and a passion for baking.
  • Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for the role of Head Baker at Kneaders Bakery & Cafe.
