General Job Summary and Purpose

Perform activities supporting production functions of the engineering department to develop, manufacture, document, and test electronic components, products, and systems by performing the following duties. Other duties may be assigned however this job has no supervisory responsibilities.


Primary Roles and Responsibilities Include:

  • Support development of new passive microwave products, modeling, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures.
  • Confers with management, production, vendors, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products. Responsible for the performance of professional work in developing & maintaining, including, but not limited to, material selection, processing, testing, documenting, part tooling, plating, marking, and the overall implementation processes
  • Perform engineering work by applying standard techniques, procedures, processes, and criteria to conduct related engineering tasks.
  • Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of part number structure including, but not limited to, existing and new products, design folders for data entry, and related design standards
  • Process engineering change notices, including the coordination of affected departments, resulting in an effective sequence of date change with minimum cost impact
  • Prepare calculations and analysis to support new products and existing product design changes, including checking the designer’s work to company/customer design specifications and checking work to customer expectations and specifications.
  • Responsible for resolving manufacturing-related issues with component designs, including implementing changes to enhance product integrity and manufacturing capability
Requirements:

Personal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college/university, ideally in mechanical or electrical engineering or comparable training and experience
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in Coaxial and Waveguide passive microwave products, including product design and development in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with Electro-magnetic Wave Theory
  • Knowledge of microwave magnetic materials and properties is a plus.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Key Competencies

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Is consistently at work and on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent.
  • Follows instructions, responds to management direction and takes responsibility for own actions.
  • Keeps commitments and commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals
