Ginosko Development Company is a multi-state affordable housing development company with over 20 years of experience in affordable housing development dedicated to "building a brighter future today" for the residents of our communities. Ginosko and our principals or affiliates are the developers and owners of over 4,000 units of multifamily housing, most of which are affordable or mixed income. Our portfolio is located throughout Michigan, Illinois, Ohio and growing. Ginosko Modular is a sister company to Ginosko Development Company.


Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Production Manager and Materials Manager, the Material Handler will receive materials at the factory from suppliers, properly store those materials per the instructions of the Production Manager. The Material Handler will report and separate all damaged materials so proper credit is received, and notify the Purchasing of any shortages, backorders, or damages so replacement material can be ordered promptly.

Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborates with employees concerning work orders, prints, and sketches to understand the materials needed to perform the job.
  2. Estimates equipment, tool, and material requirements for each job.
  3. Conducts daily, and weekly inventory of material in each department, as directed by purchasing.
  4. Maintains accurate records of materials and inventory.
  5. Safely move material utilizing a handcart, pallet jack, or forklift.
  6. Maintain inventory levels.
  7. Ensure materials are safely stored.
  8. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures.
  9. Assist with training of new team members.
  10. Operates all necessary tools and machinery to complete a job.
  11. Ensures tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained for optimum performance and safety.
  12. Ensures the accuracy of work by checking completed projects.
  13. Measures, marks, and arranges materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
  14. Ability to use and read a micrometer.
  15. Ability to operate a forklift, handcart, or pallet jack.
  16. Always adheres to safety protocols and follows policies and procedures.

Other:

  1. Regular and predictable attendance within the Ginosko-assigned facilities.
  2. Other duties as assigned by Management.
  3. Comply with applicable OSHA regulations.

Education/Certification/Licensing/Experience Requirements:

  1. Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Experience: One year of related experience required, previous experience working with diverse populations preferred.
  3. Certificates & Licenses: Forklift certification or ability to become certified to operate a forklift upon hire.
  4. Other Requirements: Strong stakeholder service skills. Exceptional dedication to dependability and punctuality. Strong work ethic. Ability to engage a team toward a common mission. Additional abilities required:
  • Ability to understand directions and read blueprints.
  • Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to properly care for and use tools of the trade.
  • Works well as part of a team.
