The Lead Installer sets up, plans, coordinates and oversees installation projects, crew members, subcontractors and outside vendors. This position is responsible for delivering a high quality of service and cost-effective management of labor resources, quality of work, meeting cost parameters, finishing on time and achieving complete customer satisfaction.
What You'll Do:
  • Collaborate with sales, account manager, project managers, and project coordinator representatives throughout installation; communicate project status, cost, schedule adherence, changes of scope, problems and punch list items, and level of customer satisfaction.
  • Train and develop leadmen and installers.
  • Coordinate with contractor, building manager, electrician, cabling contractor, etc.
  • Supervise installation, review status, performance, and schedule adherence.
  • Perform site visits, take field measurements, and track inventory as required.
  • Build installation work plan, schedule, and logistics based on overall project parameters, project timeline and scope, and customer goals.
  • Attend project meetings and communicate project information to project manager, salesperson, project coordinator, operations as required
  • Act as part of the Operation Division management team; assist in developing and implementing Division procedures, work practices, standards of performance, etc.; understand Operations economics and cost accounting; take a strong role in the development of installation personnel.
  • Plan, organize, and effectively direct a large crew of installers on small to large projects.
  • Supervise and project manage large and/or complex installation projects (100 plus workstations, complex reconfigurations, etc.)
  • Analyze and develop detailed work plans for installation projects.
What We Need from You:
  • Fully knowledgeable of electricity, electrical hookups to building power, data and voice cabling, basic furniture codes, and other technical installation issues.
  • Thorough understanding of installation: labor management, product assembly, material handling, staging and sequencing of product, field paperwork, etc.
  • Good understanding of contract furniture scope of work, including account servicing, design and order preparation, order management, factory interface, delivery & installation, and project management.
  • Understands interior design and construction processes; reads construction and furniture drawings and blueprints.
  • Mechanically adept with excellent installation technical abilities; proficient with tools and equipment; excellent at custom applications; finished installations are of high quality.
  • Extremely product knowledgeable, across all lines of furniture carried by dealership; figures out installation of new lines through analysis and extrapolation.
  • Strong crew leader who sets daily performance/result expectations and has the respect of crew members.
