Logistics Coordinator

This is a temporary three month position covering a leave of absence.
The Logistics Coordinator works closely with the Shipping and Distribution Manager and Supervisors to complete support tasks related to shipping logistics and warehouse operations. This team member will utilize ERP system and related software to create shipment documents, maintain database information for internal reporting, and provide a line of communication within and outside of the department.
This role additionally assists with the coordination of activities related to outbound fulfillment, inbound transfers and internal departmental activities in order to support annual revenue goals.
This position is a 100% on-site role. Employee must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Shipping and Warehousing Support
- Schedule carriers for outbound shipments
- Facilitate sales order fulfillments in the ERP system
- Invoice outbound orders upon shipment
- Maintain outbound log
- Create packing slips, BOLs and export documentation whenever required
Cross-Departmental Coordination
- Coordinate communication with cross functional teams., such as Sales Ops, Inventory, and Distribution team members among different buildings on campus
- Coordinate warehouse transfers with intra-departmental staff, 3PL and cross functional teams.
- Support daily cycle counting with Inventory Control and warehouse staff whenever needed
Other
- Follow shipping and receiving policies and procedures
- Act as back-up to Warehouse Administrator to support EDI functions, vendor management, and related paperwork in the Warehouse Administrator’s absence
- Cross-train to support distribution team members with shipping preparation tasks when needed (such as pallet wrapping)
- Ensure that all GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) are followed
- Support a safe working environment by following all safety protocols, reporting any unsafe conditions or observed, unsafe conduct
- Perform other tasks and projects as directed by the manager
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Problem analysis and problem solving
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with people at all levels
- Ability to multitask with thorough planning, time optimization, and prioritization
- Extremely strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of basic math
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Previous distribution experience required
- Previous experience with database systems or shipping software required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or other office suite software programs
- Prior experience in GMP environment preferred but not required

GENERAL WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This job also operates in a warehouse environment. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts sometimes in high, or precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, ambient air, temperature extremes, fumes or airborne particles, traffic, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but occasionally high.
