Responsibilities:
- Analyze project specifications, architectural drawings, and other relevant documents to accurately estimate roofing materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Collaborate closely with the sales and project management teams to understand client needs, project goals, and develop comprehensive bid proposals.
- Prepare detailed take-offs and cost breakdowns for various roofing systems, considering factors such as materials, labor, equipment, permits, and overhead.
- Research and identify cost-effective solutions while maintaining high-quality standards and adhering to industry best practices.
- Utilize estimating software and tools to streamline the estimation process and ensure accuracy in calculations.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather crucial information and insights for preparing accurate estimates.
- Evaluate potential risks and challenges associated with projects and develop contingency plans.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new roofing technologies, and best practices to enhance the accuracy and competitiveness of our bids.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of proven experience in commercial roofing estimation, with a strong understanding of various roofing systems and materials.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel/ Office suite.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy in calculations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams.
- Proven track record of successfully bidding and securing commercial roofing projects.
- Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to roofing projects.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
