SCHOOL-BASED THERAPIST – PORTAGE COUNTY SCHOOLS

Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available

Join our team and provide quality behavioral health care in the Windham and Maplewood schools - and enjoy your summers off

The School-Based Therapist develops relationships with school counselors, administrators and teachers, and provides individual support and mental health consultation to students in and out of the classroom in Portage County’s Windham and Maplewood schools. This position also provides crisis intervention to students when needed and refers students for higher level care when the need is identified.


Responsibilities:

  • Provides mental health consultation and counseling for identified students
  • Assists school personnel with learning behavioral interventions
  • Participates in IEP, 504, and grade meetings, parent conferences, and school events
  • Collaborates with school personnel for professional development related to mental health
  • Refers clients to the Agency’s treatment services, and facilitates communication between school personnel and School-Based Billable staff
  • Assists with expanding billable and prevention services within the school districts

Required Qualifications:

  • LISW, LPCC or IMFT licensure and Master’s Degree required.
  • At least 2 years providing therapy services in the field; school-based experience preferred.
  • Ability to think critically and utilize problem-solving skills; strong ethical decision-making skills required.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
