Overview

Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Calibration Technican to join our team in Vernon Hills, IL. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining quality standards by approving incoming materials, conducting in-process inspections, and analyzing data for compliance. This role involves calibrating and troubleshooting monitoring and measuring devices, interpreting blueprints, and supporting internal quality audits. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with GD&T and GR&R principles.

Contract to Hire:

Pay Rate:$25.00- $30.00 per hours


Responsibilities

Job Description:As a Calibration Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products. Your responsibilities will include approving incoming materials, monitoring in-process materials, and recording quality results. You will calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot monitoring and measuring devices to ensure they conform to established standards. Utilizing precision measuring equipment and interpreting blueprints will be essential as you perform first piece and in-process inspections using Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and handheld gauges. Analyzing inspection data for compliance and developing work instructions and documentation will also be part of your duties. Additionally, you will investigate non-conformances and coordinate related activities, support internal quality audits, and maintain supplier performance evaluations. Your attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to safety regulations will contribute to our overall quality assurance efforts.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Basic math and reading skills.
  • Detail-oriented and a team player.
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and GR&R (Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility) principles.
  • Experience in blueprint reading and familiarity with measuring equipment (e.g., CMM, calipers, micrometers).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Preferred: Certification as a Quality Auditor (CQA) or Quality Engineer (CQE), or an Associate's degree.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO9000 and IATF16949.
