Job Description:

The role will be to perform 3D technical design and modeling as well as production support for transportation and transit projects using Autodesk and Bentley platforms. Qualified candidates will have experience in Civil Engineering discipline work and structural detailing for bridges and/or buildings, as well as steel, concrete, and rebar detailing. Qualified candidates will be able to perform work as assigned from sketches, verbal instructions, and notes; and maintain current knowledge of modeling and drafting procedures. Successful candidates will have a strong client-service attitude, be self-motivated, technically proficient, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and be team-oriented.

Job Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):

  • Associate Degree in Engineering preferred, but not essential
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in 3D modeling as applied to structures
  • Proficient in CAD production and accurate development of 3D models using a variety of software including Revit, Open Roads Designer, and Open Bridge Modeler
  • Demonstrate skill in MicroStation, AutoCAD, Open Bridge and Revit software
  • Prepares layouts, drawings, and designs from detailed sketches and/or drawings made by technicians, designers, or technical professionals, converting paper documents into digital files
  • Capable of administering and maintaining the CAD Management Plan including modifications of workspaces, preference files, plot drivers, etc. if needed
  • Performs advanced design visualization exhibits from multiple 3D design models
  • Develops processes and techniques for rapid 3D visualization of design concepts
  • Develops graphic exhibits as needed for meetings
  • Calculates quantities if needed
  • Review work provided by others for drafting errors
  • ProjectWise knowledge and experience including among others, granting and revoking access, modification of folder structure, etc.
  • Reviews and revises documents to include engineering notes, specifications, standards, and procedures in drafting plans and in preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates
  • Preferable knowledge of BIM methodology
  • Good interpersonal skills and capable of developing technical writing, and communication skills
  • Valid Driver's License, with the ability to maintain insurability under the company's insurance carrier
