Clinical/Field Coordinator

Director of Education/Dean of Cataldo Education Center

Purpose of Position and Scope of Responsibility:

To organize and coordinate clinical and field opportunities for the students in Paramedic (Advanced) courses. The Clinical Coordinator is directly responsible and accountable for ensuring that students receive excellent clinical and field educational experiences. This position reports to the CEC Director of Education.

Primary Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:

1. Monitors student progress towards required clinical and field time.

2. Creates mid-term and semester student progress reports.

3. Meets with students to review progress.

4. Reports student progress to the Dean, Paramedic Program Director and Lead Instructor.

5. Coordinates affiliation agreements between Cataldo Education Center and field and clinical sites.

6. Cultivates, monitors and guides new clinical and field sites for the programs.

7. Visits field and clinical sites annually.

8. Monitors students at clinical and field sites, as required.

9. Ensures compliance with clinical and field site requirements.

10. Provides preceptor training to field and clinical sites as needed.

11. Manages Platinum Tracker and assists students as needed.

12. Knowledgable of CoAEMSP standards and provides documentation clinical and field compliance.

13. Serve as a member of the Education Advisory Committee.

14. Attend faculty meetings, training and planning sessions.

15. Miscellaneous job duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications (Minimum)

Knowledge/ Education:

High School Diploma

Experience:

Ability to meet and talk with potential clinical sites and gain affiliation agreements, ability to read and understand contracts, strong organizational skills, experience monitoring student progress, ability to resolve problems and conflicts as required, teaching skills, counseling skills, computer use, knowledge of Excel, Word and Platinum Tracker.

License, Registration, Certification:

Valid driver’s license, current State of Massachusetts Instructor/Coordinator license, National Registry Paramedic Certification, current working Massachusetts Paramedic License.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge/ Education:

Associate Degree or higher

Experience:

Experience with education standards in other associated fields, member of education or related standards committee.

License, Registration, Certification:

Current certification in ACLS, PALS, PEPP, CPR, PHTLS, AMLS, GEMS, EPC.

Other Requirements

Must display professionalism in dress, demeanor and attitude in order to present a positive learning environment for the students, associate faculty and training center. Must be at least 18 years of age.
