DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Reviews referrals for completeness and follows up for additional information if necessary
- Enters referrals, documents communications and actions in system and spreadsheets
- Coordinate large volume of referrals that come in from various sources
- Communicates with Scheduling team and other departments to update referral request
- Create and update spreadsheets to track data
- Gather data and report on trends
- Contact patients if there is an insurance issue and the ability to educate patients and staff
- Interactions with physician for updates
- Coordinate with Clinical team to referral status
- Create partnership with referring practices and become a point of contact for SMASA
- Schedule and cancel appointments
- Contact insurance companies to obtain authorizations for new and established patients
- Travel and visit referring provider

EDUCATION:
Education: High School diploma or GED required
EXPERIENCE: 2+ years working patient referrals and/or insurance. 2+ year's experience in a medical practice.
ABILITIES: Must demonstrate strong leadership and effective communication skills. Excellent planning, organization and managements skills. Ability to multi-task, works in a fast-paced work environment, and demonstrates team cooperation.
Job Type: Full-time - Monday through Friday. Dependable transportation required. Travel between locations may be required.
