JOB OVERVIEW

Create/conduct safe, effective exercise programming and leadership for Boar's Head Sports Club members and guests through one-on-one sessions and exercise classes. Success in this position is driven by the ability to initiate interest and to motivate members to increase/maintain their fitness level.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Schedule and conduct personal training sessions with clients. Perform screenings on each client that may include postural assessment, blood pressure, liability waiver, PARQ form, risk factor evaluation, body fat measurements, etc.
  2. Obtain medical releases, to be placed on file, for any participant that has demonstrated/inferred high-risk behavior or for any participant with known cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, cancer, or any other medical concern.
  3. Instruct members on how to use the exercise equipment. Inform members of, and enforce, the rules governing the equipment room to ensure safety.
  4. Maintain good interpersonal skills, remain neutral in conversations and uphold client confidentiality.
  5. Instruct exercise classes such as circuits, strength classes, water aerobics, etc.
  6. Organize, promote and participate in special activities for club members, non- members and guests that produce revenue (i.e. youth fitness classes, triathlon training, swimfit, etc.)
  7. Attend training programs on-site and at other facilities to increase professional knowledge/credentials.
  8. Obtain and maintain current personal training certification and CPR/AED certification.
  9. Aid The Sports Club in promoting the Exercise Program and serve as an appropriate role model for health and fitness concerns.
  10. Ensure equipment room is clean and organized.
  11. Keep the Fitness room organized, help keep exercise equipment clean, return equipment to its proper location after training clients and report needed repairs or equipment failures to the Fitness Manager.
  12. Report maintenance requests to Fitness Manager- report problems with building, temperature, electricity, etc.
  13. Acquire and maintain current knowledge of Sports Club Programs and the Resort to respond to member/guest questions.
  14. Complete administrative duties including entering tickets into the computer to ensure proper billing of clients and submitting appropriate paperwork to Human Resources, Accounting and Fitness Manager.
