The Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the overall daily operations of the ASP. This includes but is not limited to receipt, accountability, inventory, issue, turn-in, shipping, maintenance, residue and inspection of Class V for the Fort Knox Ammunition Supply Point.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the applicable supply and equipment management processes, related regulations and is required to ensure effective accountability of all assigned property.
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques and causative research skills to identify areas of needed emphasis to recommend improvements.
  • Coordinate/maintain an ASP training program for required certifications and equipment operators.
  • Should possess operational skill and knowledge of the Standard Army Ammunition System utilized for ammunition processes.
  • Conduct ammunition visual inspection and certification; warehousing; ammunition and non-ammunition materiel salvage; receipt of user turn-in; packaging A&E for shipment; training of Contractor ammunition personnel; ammunition safety during A&E operations; ASP entry control.
  • Conduct receipt, storage, and issue of ammunition, ammunition components, and ammunition related materiel IAW AR 710-2, DA PAM 700-16, DoD 4500.9-r, Part II, all Army, State and Federal regulations.
  • Ensure all training is conducted IAW AMC R 350-4 and DA PAM 385-64.
  • Provide amnesty services, required to sort, inspect, and repack damaged and serviceable ammunition on a daily basis. Prepare unit packs in accordance with MIL-STD-129 Series.
  • Provide physical security of A&E, supplies, materiel, facilities and equipment as dictated by any threat and IAW with AR 190-11.
  • Regulates personnel/vehicle activities surrounding the ASP facility, implementing and enforcing Government-established badge/pass system, conducting patrols in vehicles or on foot as required, checking all designated gates, doors, etc.
  • Coordinate with JMC, ITO, and warehousemen to ensure outbound shipments are scheduled and shipments are prepared to meet Required Delivery Dates (RDD).
  • Coordinate with the Accountable Officer (AO) and conduct inventories, including pre-inventory location surveys and post-inventory causative research.
  • Conduct the monthly ammunition re-supply requirements, communicate ammunition needs with the AO and Installation Training Ammunition Manager (ITAM).
  • Supervise a team of ammunition personnel, including timekeeping, disciplinary actions, and mentoring.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Knowledge of National Level Ammunition Capability (NLAC), Total Ammunition  Management Information System (TAMIS), and Munitions History Program (MHP) system capabilities.
  • Possess high ethical standards and demonstrate professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team-based, highly collaborative environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills; ability to interact at all levels.
  • Five years of supervisory experience and a comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, procedures and instructions in supply/ASP management.
  • Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC), Drivers License, and pass Personnel Reliability Screening and Evaluation (DA 7708) IAW AR 190-13.
