Job DescriptionJob Description

SUMMARY To assist & support the QA Department in managing the department and the staff responsible for the control and assurance of quality, provide technical support for production and customer service, and implement programs to safeguard product safety and quality.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Write and review procedures for accuracy and efficiency.

Perform monthly quality audits, confirming our procedures and processes align.


Support a culture of Safety and Right the First Time (RFT) at all times.


Oversee the testing of finished and in-process goods; inventory adjustments; line samples, component testing and product disposition.


Support QA staff during production problems - trouble shooting.


Disposition product holds, raw materials and component rejects in a timely fashion.


Review and sign off on batch boards.


Prepare batch paperwork in accordance with customer's expectations and FnA instructions.


Assist QA Manager in providing monthly training for department and oversee general training & training documentation for personnel.


Participate in GMP, customer and regulatory audits.


Participate in daily team meeting and shift pass down meeting.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises (under the direction of the QA Manager) employees in the Quality Assurance Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting in interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning and assigning, directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A) from a four-year college or university in chemistry, business or related science; In lieu of a degree, 7 - 10 years working experience in Quality Assurance as Line Inspector or related position is required.


QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and soled geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
