Comin' Up Program- Teen Specialist

The Teen & Early Intervention Specialist, under direct supervision of the Comin Up Site Director, is responsible for teen programming and early intervention. Responsibilities include programming; recruitment and member services; early intervention; leadership and development; mentorship; paperwork and data entry; relationships and safety.
The Comin’ Up Gang Intervention Program serves at-risk and gang-involved youth between the ages of 12-18 years in Fort Worth communities. The goal of the Comin’ Up Gang Intervention Program is to positively impact the lives of at-risk and gang-involved youth by providing needs-based services and activities to reduce the level of gang violence in the City of Fort Worth.
Requirements:Education and Work Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred
- Minimum 1-year experience with youth (professional or volunteer), experience with teens preferred
Minimum Qualifications Requirements:
- Ability to work evening and night hours
- Ability to be a positive role model
- Ability to connect with others quickly; ability to establish rapport and build relationships
- Ability to facilitate, teach, or instruct
- Ability to follow instructions and conform to policies and procedures
- Ability to relate to at-risk youth
- Ability to set expectations and boundaries
- Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
- Must be detail-oriented
- Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
- Must be able to pass any required background screens and drug screens at any time
- Must have a satisfactory driving record and valid driver’s license for operating a motor vehicle relevant to carrying out duties.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual
- Currently certified in CPR/First Aid
- Knowledge of problems and barriers at-risk youth face
- Youth development experience and/or Boys & Girls Club experience
