Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAbout the opportunity:
Hybrid Pathways, a New Era company, is seeking a Qualys analyst for 5 hours a week, i.e., 20 hours a month. The appropriate candidate will work with the security engineering team to configure Qualys CloudView vulnerability scanning policies to match new technical security standards (e.g., based off Center for Internet Security [CIS] operating system security hardening benchmarks) that have been developed by the customer. This is a 5-month remote opportunity.
 

• Prioritize new technical security standards for Qualys vulnerability scanning policy configuration.
• Identify the Qualys vulnerability scanning attributes that match the customer’s new technical security standards.
• Configure Qualys CloudView for the vulnerability scanning attributes that match the customer’s new technical security standards.

Required Skills

• 3 - 5+ years Vulnerability Management and specific Qualys CloudView engineering experience 
• Understanding of the following capabilities and engineering experience in Qualys; 

• Scanning Policy Configuration 
• Authenticated Scans 
• Unauthenticated Scans 
• Asset Management Groupings 
• Dynamic Tagging 
• Systems Integrations into Aggregation and Asset Management Platforms.

• Experience with Center for Internet Security (CIS) operating system security hardening benchmarks and configuring those requirements into Qualys vulnerability scanning policies.
• Experience with Cloud Security Engineering and Architecture.
• Hybrid IT, Network, Network Security and Cybersecurity expertise. 
• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM.
• Experience working at the interface of Engineering and Operations. 
• Consultative skills 
• Experience with SaaS IT infrastructure and cloud security concepts.
• Experience with network security concepts.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Collaborative team worker – both in person and virtually using MS Teams or similar. 
• Excellent documentation skills; demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work as liaison between business and information security / information technology.
• Flexibility to accommodate working across different time zones.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills with strong spoken and written English. 
• Business outcomes mindset.
• Solid balance of strategic thinking with detailed orientation. 
• Self-starter, ability to take initiative.
• Project management and organizational skills with attention to detail.

Required Education

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education, and work experience.
